Autarchy Meetings

This year’s edition of the Autarchy Meetings, organized by Public Administration Interface, is going to take place at Biocant Park facilities, on the 28th of February.

This event, which will bring together a highly educated audience responsible for the strategic planning and investment of the Portuguese autarchies, will have the subject “Investment Settling in local and regional territories”.

Biocant will be represented by the president of the Management Board, Carlos Faro, who will explain how the innovation pole of Cantanhede was set from a partnership between private and public entities in an atmosphere of true collaboration. Other orators will be present with contextual interventions and practical cases about the regional development and the attractive factors of the private investment.

Henrique Albergaria, of the Institute of Regional and Urbane Studies of the University of Coimbra, will present the main conclusions of a study on regional development and polycentrism in the centre area of Portugal. António Rodrigues, Mayor of the Town Hall of Torres Novas, will show the conditions and expectations that were on the basis of the plan TorresNovas.pt, prepared together with the consultant office of Augusto Mateus. The vice president of the Town Hall of Leiria will talk about the importance of the institutions of Higher Education in the development of a region, quoting the case of the presence of the ESTG – Technology and Management College in the district of Leiria.
